Backend Developer

One important component of Mars Protocol (and any credit protocol!) is the risk system. The risk system enables the assessment and monitoring of assets - their prices, liquidity levels, usage patterns and other metrics. These metrics feed into recommendations to governance which helps determine an assets suitability to be used as collateral and at what configurations. Mars Protocol Foundation is looking for someone with development experience and who is real self-starter. This person should love some good ole on-chain sleuthing and will have a multifaceted role to help take Mars Protocols risk system to the next level. This role would suit someone who is familiar with DeFi, smart contracts and some full stack development. Someone who can work independently and learn as they go while maintaining a strong sense of accountability in a fast-growth startup-like environment.

The role will ideally grow into a multifaceted one covering responsibilities such as: * Pulling data on-chain via indexing and querying * Pulling data off-chain via APIs (such as pricing info) * Running assets through risk frameworks and Jupyter Notebook simulations * Building out and enhancing dashboards and alerting systems for Mars Protocol * Constructing smart contract execution messages and submitting to governance

* Prior professional experience in backend or full-stack development roles * Proficient or willing to learn Typescript, Javascript, Html, Rust * Good understanding of DeFi / crypto-financial primitives and the web3 landscape * (Preferred) Experience tinkering with CosmWasm smart contracts * (Preferred) Experience building dashboards/alerts * (Preferred) Experience with Python and Jupyter Notebook
